While the 40-plus ViewSonic products differ in price and quality, they all offer you the ability to customize your viewing experience with an array of color, sharpness, contrast, brightness, back light and tint controls. For calibration purposes, oftentimes it's necessary, if not easier, to start from scratch and then adjust your settings to your liking. If the issue still persist, I would recommend you to contact Viewsonic VA2231WM-LED manufacturer and check if they have the latest driver which is compatible with Windows 10. If the latest driver is not available for Windows 10 you can buy a new monitor which is compatible with Windows 10.
